Secang or Sepang ( Caesalpinia sappan L. ) is a herbaceous member of the tribe of legumes ( Fabaceae ) were utilized bark (bark) and wood as a commodity trading spices .
The origin of this plant is not known with certainty; but has long been cultivated in the region of India , Southeast Asia , Malesia , to the Pacific , especially as a producer of dyes and traditional medicinal materials
